Stocksbridge to Sheffield City Centre in eleven minutes. That’s the plan.
Using the existing track linking Stocksbridge with Sheffield Victoria Station, just one vehicle could provide passengers with a regular, half hourly train service.
Despite research suggesting that there is substantial local demand for one, there hasn’t been a regular passenger service along the Don Valley line since the late 1950s. The Don Valley Railway is a local campaign group committed to seeing the reinstatement of a regular, reliable and convenient commuter rail service along this underused line.
